Found as part of a dumped litter of puppies, Indigo immediately stood out—not only as the skinniest and weakest of the bunch but as the one with the brightest spark in his eyes. From the moment he entered SD&SC’s care, it was clear that Indigo was something special. His quick wit and adventurous spirit were evident, even in his frail state. With a heart full of love and a mischievous personality that could light up any room, he quickly bounced back.


Indigo received the medical care he desperately needed, nourishing meals that transformed his small frame into a strong, handsome boy, and endless affection that helped nurture his spirit. Today, almost two years old and weighing a healthy 65 pounds, Indigo has blossomed into a big, beautiful pup with a heart as expansive as his energy. He’s not just a pet; he’s a vibrant companion who is always up for an adventure, including splashing through water during his favorite pastime—dock diving!

He can get along with any dog we put him with. He can be rough in his play, but it is all joy. He has the silliest personality that is constantly making us laugh.
